Between fleece, thermal blankets and footy pajamas, we are doing our best to keep warm during this week of unseasonably cold temperatures here in Atlanta.
In the Gentle Reminder section of Martha Stewart Living magazine this month, Martha suggests turning the thermostat down to 55 at night ; in order to conserve energy and lower your heating bill.
We tried one night and even with the above mentioned accompaniments, it was just a little to cold for our sensitive southern dispositions. It felt like camping in the Chisos Mountain Basin at Big Bend all over again. So cold that you have to wear your clothes to bed, in multiple layers, as well as a hat and yes, it's still freezing.
Thank goodness we didn't end up in Detroit a few years ago instead of Atlanta-none of us would have made it through the first winter.
